Only twenty-six during the production of Omaha (The Movie), Dan
Mirvish was a graduate film student at the University of Southern California
film school. Omaha was his thesis product. While at USC, Dan directed,
edited and produced numerous other projects. He has co-written several
screenplays, assistant directed the Trimark feature film, American Kickboxer
II and has produced and directed several music videos for bands from
Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles. Since completion of Omaha, Dan co-founded
the Slamdance International Film Festival which has garnered international
praise as an independent alternative to the Sundance Film Festival. Dan's
current project is the script, Stamp & Deliver, a modern-day
postal western, that he plans to direct this summer in Nebraska. Dan also
has been a freelance journalist with the New York Times, Washington Monthly,
and speechwriter for Senator Tom Harkin.
