Currently a teacher at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, John began his acting career working in small productions off Broadway before landing a starred role on Broadway and with the touring company of Oliver. He has also toured with Rip Taylor in Student Prince, Henry Winkler in Room Service, and Florence Henderson in Annie Get Your Gun. His work in television and movies, includes roles in Star Trek IV, Rescue Me, Murder, She Wrote, Harvest of Fire with Patty Duke, Trapper John MD, Laverne & Shirley, Little House on the Prairie, Paper Chase, Three’s Company, and Eight is Enough. Italian Funerals and Other Festive Occasions, a play he wrote, premiered at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia and was nominated for the Critics Circle Award.
