Loren Janes became a professional movie and television stuntman, and
stunt coordinator in 1954 by making an 80-foot dive from a cliff on Catalina
Island. Since that time he has stunt doubled for Steve McQueen (for 22
years), Paul Newman, Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood, and Kirk Douglas.
He has worked in over 500 movies, including Jailhouse Rock with
Elvis Presley, McClintock and North to Alaska with John Wayne,
The Ten Commandments, The Dirty Dozen, King Kong,
Back to the Future, the three Batman movies, Hot Shots Part Deux,
True Lies, and Casino. He has worked on several television
series, including Barnaby Jones, Baywatch, Dr. Quinn:
Medicine Woman, The Fall Guy, Little House on the Prairie,
MacGyver, Star Trek, and Star Trek: TNG. Loren is
also the co-founder of the Stuntmen's Association of Motion Pictures and
Television, and is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Screen
Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
