John Fujii has supported the Donna Reed Foundation ever since he drove
out to Denison seeking adventure in 1990. A volunteer in many affairs of
the summer Festival, John's attendance is by fluke--he learned of the Foundation
while watching Nick-at-Nite cable television. The rest is history.
John is a systems software technologist for HP Inc. An instructor
of a festival workshop called Computers in Entertainment, John's
normal work is in developing advanced imaging technologies and Linux
workstation solutions for engineers,
animators, and industrial designers. He has helped develop computer
graphics and interactive solutions for over three decades, contributing to
numerous animation projects that have had international explosure. One of his
computer animations, Coredump, is part of the permanent
collection at the Smithsonian Institution Museum of American History.
It is also included in the platinum-selling
video, Beyond The Mind's Eye-A Computer Animation Odyssey with music
by Jan Hammer. John is an award-winning leader and recognized pioneer in the
computer graphics industry, chairing a major international
computer graphics conference called SIGGRAPH 96. Held in New Orleans on
August 4-9, 1996, it attracted nearly 29,000 computer professionals from
academic, entertainment, industry and art communities around the world.
To date, it was one of the most successful annual conferences of ACM SIGGRAPH. He also serves as President
of the Board of Directors of the Donna Reed Foundation.
