Born in Indiana and raised in Georgia, Nancy spent most of her time
on the road, telling stories and teaching the storytelling way. She toured
on the Mid-America Arts Alliance and the Nebraska Arts Council's Touring
Program during the winter season. Nancy was a Co-Chair of the Storytelling
Festival of Nebraska, held each year in Omaha in June. Nancy taught a
graduate/undergraduate level course in storytelling at the College of Saint
Mary and graduate level courses at the Loess Hills and Grant Wood A.E.A.'s
in Iowa. Nancy had a MFA in Theater from the University of Iowa and was
a recipient of a residency award from Yellow Springs Institute in Rocky
Mountain National Park, and the Nebraska Arts Council's Governor's Arts
Award. Nancy Duncan, a former Festival presenter, passed away in September, 2004.
