Janice Baker

With more than 20 years experience in dance, Janice has studied with Rose Lorenz, Bonnie Mathias, Mary Joyce Lind, Valerie Williams, Sherri Saterstrom, Stephens Laurent, Gus Giordano, Constantine Uralsky, Irina Uralsky, Pasha Romaniouk, and Linda Sabo. Currently teaching at Iowa State University, her teaching expertise spans all forms of dance. Ms. Baker has worked in the musical theater medium for the last 20 years and has staged over 50 works, including Show Boat, Oklahoma, and the Music Man. Each year, she remounts the party scene and the fight scene for the annual production of The Nutcracker at C.Y Stephens Auditorium at Iowa State University. Ms. Baker is the creator of a participatory production of the classic story entitled Nutcraker, the Adventure. Original works directed and choreographed by Ms. Baker include Nick and the Hot Angel Chorus and Home for the Holidays. She also rewrote the format for Red Garter Revue.
