Phase-One Museum Opens to Public

The Donna Reed Heritage Museum debuted during the 19th Donna Reed Performing Arts Festival in June, 2004. Visitors were greeted by wonderful informative displays and interactive exhibits at the opening dedication.

In the window of the museum and foundation office, visitors are engaged by photographic tributes to The Donna Reed Show, It's a Wonderful Life, and From Here to Eternity

Inside the museum, visitors can learn many interesting details about Donna Reed's life in front and behind the cameras. The Donna Reed / Violet Lindsay interactive exhibit allows visitors to view selected letters from their 48 year pen-pal friendship and see an interview with Violet and Don Uker of Denison.

Pictured above are some of the many volunteer members of Denison, Iowa, at the opening dedication who worked countless hours with the community and sponsors to remodel the museum space and create a wonderful visitor experience in the new Donna Reed Heritage Museum.
